Chester Glass Cut String Staircases Renovation. This glass stair transformation in Chester, Cheshire combined using a modern oak handrail profile with glass and stainless-steel brackets alongside the beautiful existing newel posts, which have been restored and re-painted. The end result was spectacular and the client loved the new openness and contemporary design of the glass stair renovation provided.
A cut String staircase can dramatically change a hallway or room and can be easily renovated using bespoke glass as in this example. The difference on a Cut String staircase as opposed to a traditional string staircase, is the newel strings are cut to follow the treads and risers which can be either mitred back into the string or returned into a decorative bracket.
