A dated, unfashionable turned painted spindle staircase which had been installed by the housebuilder didn’t align with this modern house interior and looked tired. The stairs in most homes are the first thing you see when you walk in through the front door. The whole house is built around it, so it defines the character of your home and the clients wanted to address this issue with a new glass stair transformation.
INSPIRATION
Glass was the preferred choice, as the addition of bespoke glass can give the illusion that a space is much larger than it really is – something particularly difficult to achieve with other materials such as wood and metal in such a tight landing space as in this instance. At Design My Stairs we have a long tradition specialising in glass stair transformations. In 2021, we won the SME News Northern Enterprise Award for Best Embedded Glass Staircase Specialists.
